RANATICS MOBILE · Game and website policies

Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this covers

“We,” “us,” and “our” refer to the RANATICS MOBILE team. For questions or privacy requests, email hi@gelabs.dev.

This policy covers the RANATICS MOBILE game, this website, and correspondence with the team. Apple TestFlight, the App Store, Google Play, and any other service you reach through the game are operated by those companies under their own privacy practices.

RANATICS MOBILE is in open beta. Sections 2 to 5 describe the game, sections 6 to 8 the website, and the rest apply to both.

2. The game: what your account holds

Creating an account

Registering in the game asks for a username, a password, a second password used as a PIN, and an email address. Both the password and the PIN are stored in hashed form, not as readable text, and our staff cannot read them back. The email address is used to identify the account for support and recovery.

Signing in with Apple or Google

If you sign in with Apple or Google instead, we receive the provider name, the stable account identifier that provider gives us, and the email address it shares. Apple may give a private relay address rather than your own. We never receive your Apple or Google password. A matching game account is created for you the first time, and a short-lived session ticket signs you in.

Connecting and playing

When you connect, the account records the IP address you connected from and a device identifier, and holds a session ticket until it expires. Play itself creates character names and appearance, level, class and school, items, in-game gold, guild and friend lists, your position in the world, and your saved interface layout, which is kept with the account so it follows you between devices.

Server records

Game servers write operational records of events such as logins, in-game transactions and chat. These are used to run the service, restore progress after a fault, answer support requests, and investigate cheating, fraud and abuse.

On your device and while downloading

Settings, cached game files and diagnostic logs are written on your own device and are not sent to us unless you send them with a support request. The game downloads its data files from a content delivery network, which processes your IP address and device details in order to deliver them and to prevent abuse.

3. The game: how that information is used

We use it to create and maintain your account, run the game and save your progress, keep the service secure, answer support requests, and investigate cheating, account theft, payment fraud and abuse. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process it to provide the service you asked for, for our legitimate interests in running it safely, to meet legal obligations, or with your consent where required.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use the game to build advertising profiles. In-game chat and public activity are visible to other players; please treat them as public.

4. The game: deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the game. Open the menu, then Options → Account → Delete account, and confirm. An account that signs in with a username confirms with its password, and one that signs in with Apple or Google confirms by signing in again; if the account has a PIN, it is asked for as well. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Deleting the account disables it so it can no longer sign in, removes the email address, the last recorded IP address, the device identifier, any linked Apple or Google identity and any session tickets, replaces the stored password and PIN with values nobody holds, and removes your characters from play together with their guild and friend connections. A guild led by one of your characters is disbanded and its members released.

Operational and security records that we must keep to investigate abuse, resolve disputes, or meet a legal obligation may be retained for a limited period after deletion, and are then removed on the schedule in section 10. If you cannot reach the in-game control, write to hi@gelabs.dev and we will handle it for you.

5. The game: who else is involved

Apple and Google provide sign-in and app distribution. Cloudflare provides the content delivery network and protection for the game’s data downloads and sign-in service. Hosting and network providers run the servers. Each processes only what it needs to provide its service, and their infrastructure may process information outside your country.

We may disclose relevant information when required by law or when necessary to investigate abuse, protect people, or establish or defend legal rights, subject to applicable law.

6. The website: information and why it is used

Email form preview

The form checks your selected platform, email format, and consent checkbox in your browser only. Its entries are not sent to us or saved by this website. Completing the preview does not subscribe you to a mailing list or register a game account. You can join the iOS beta directly without using the form.

Messages you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, any name displayed by your email account, your message, attachments, and associated email information. We use this information to respond, investigate issues, and handle requests. Please send only the information needed for your inquiry, and never send passwords or payment credentials.

Website delivery and security

Vercel hosts this website. Delivering and protecting it involves processing technical information such as your IP address, browser or device details, requested page, referring page, and request time. This information may appear in hosting and security logs used to deliver content, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information for our legitimate interests in operating a reliable website and responding to inquiries, to meet legal obligations, or with consent where required. The preview checkbox does not create a live marketing subscription.

7. Cookies and browser storage

Our website code does not set advertising or analytics cookies, use tracking pixels, or save preview entries in local or session storage. Fonts and images are served with the site. Hosting security features may process technical information as described above. Your browser or email provider may separately retain information under your own settings.

8. The website: providers and disclosure

We use Vercel for hosting and email service providers to receive and respond to email. These providers process information needed to provide their services. Their infrastructure may process information outside your country.

We do not sell your personal information or use this website to build advertising profiles. We may disclose relevant information when required by law or when necessary to investigate abuse, protect people, or establish or defend legal rights, subject to applicable law.

9. Apple TestFlight and other links

Following the iOS invitation takes you to Apple TestFlight. Apple and the app developer can receive beta usage, crash, and feedback information through that service; the website form’s no-save behavior does not apply to TestFlight or the game. Read TestFlight’s privacy information and Apple’s Privacy Policy before participating.

10. Retention and security

Account and character information is kept while the account exists. When you delete the account it is handled as described in section 4. Operational and security records are kept only as long as needed for the purpose that created them, or as long as a legal obligation requires. We do not keep a database of preview form submissions. Email correspondence is kept for as long as reasonably needed to resolve your inquiry, maintain relevant records, or meet legal requirements. Hosting log retention depends on the provider’s service settings and requirements.

Passwords and PINs are stored hashed rather than as readable text, the live site uses HTTPS, and sign-in traffic is encrypted in transit. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure; please choose a password you do not use elsewhere, and limit what you share in email.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or blocking, or a portable copy of your personal information, and may object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. These rights have legal conditions and exceptions. The quickest route to deletion is the in-game control in section 4.

Send requests to hi@gelabs.dev. Describe the request and the information involved. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your identity and will respond within the period required by applicable law.

If Philippine data protection law applies, you may also raise a concern with the National Privacy Commission. You may contact the appropriate privacy authority in your own jurisdiction.

12. Children and young players

RANATICS MOBILE is not directed at young children, and the website does not offer a live signup service for them. If you believe a child has created a game account or sent us personal information, contact us and we will review the account and remove it where appropriate. If you are a parent or guardian, you may ask us about an account in your child’s care. Participation in TestFlight and the game is subject to their applicable age and parental-consent requirements.

13. Changes to this policy

We will update this page and its date when our data practices change. Before enabling real email subscriptions or introducing additional data collection, we will provide the relevant information and obtain consent where required. The game shows this policy when you first play, and again when it changes in a way you should read.

For the rules that apply to the game and this website, read our Terms of Service.
